Kids Coding Sydney
Our programs encourage learning by doing and teach young people the in-demand technical skills of today.
At QwertyKids children discover completely different ways to play with code and get hands-on with some of the most innovative technology from around the world.
Young people learn so much more than how to code and use new technology at QwertyKids. Children build confidence and resilience as they’re encouraged to:-
- Think creatively;
- Work collaboratively;
- Reason systematically;
- Solve complex problems;
- Set and achieve goals;
- Make, share, and present ideas.
Teachers with professional programming experience
Our Code Captain is Dannielle Chun (‘DC’)
She began her coding career as a Web Developer for multi-award winning ABC Science Online where she moderated the forum on which the word ‘selfie’ was published for the very first time. Along with programming websites for Dr Karl Kruszelnicki and the Surfing Scientist, DC was instrumental in introducing new media, like podcasts and video, to the Australian Broadcasting Corporation.
More recently she was the Digital Lead for Microsoft Australia and managed their IT Pro, Developer, and Education channels. During her tenure DC produced a range of innovative digital media for Microsoft’s flagship festival, TechEd. Her work for Australia went on to be adopted by other Microsoft hubs around the world. DC also helped produce all things digital for Microsoft’s twentieth anniversary of the global student technology competition, Imagine Cup.
She has teaching certificates from both Cambridge University and Connected Courses and is certified in Education and Care First Aid. Her Working with Children Check number is WWC0770109E.
Oh and she made this amazing website you’re looking at now. Thanks DC! You’re awesome. (See what you can do when when you write code ☺)
